Frontiers in pharmacology | 2025

Hypertensive nephropathy (HN) is a common complication of hypertension. Clinically, there is an urgent need for new HN treatment strategies. Sijunzitang (SJZT) is widely used in clinical practice, but its therapeutic effects and pharmacological mechanisms in the treatment of HN remain unclear.

UniProt (tool)

RRID:SCR_002380

Collection of data of protein sequence and functional information. Resource for protein sequence and annotation data. Consortium for preservation of the UniProt databases: UniProt Knowledgebase (UniProtKB), UniProt Reference Clusters (UniRef), and UniProt Archive (UniParc), UniProt Proteomes. Collaboration between European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI), SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics and Protein Information Resource. Swiss-Prot is a curated subset of UniProtKB.

Search Tool for Interactions of Chemicals (tool)

RRID:SCR_007947

Database to explore known and predicted interactions of chemicals and proteins. It integrates information about interactions from metabolic pathways, crystal structures, binding experiments and drug-target relationships. Inferred information from phenotypic effects, text mining and chemical structure similarity is used to predict relations between chemicals. STITCH further allows exploring the network of chemical relations, also in the context of associated binding proteins. Each proposed interaction can be traced back to the original data sources. The database contains interaction information for over 68,000 different chemicals, including 2200 drugs, and connects them to 1.5 million genes across 373 genomes and their interactions contained in the STRING database.

Research Collaboratory for Structural Bioinformatics Protein Data Bank (RCSB PDB) (tool)

RRID:SCR_012820

Collection of structural data of biological macromolecules. Database of information about 3D structures of large biological molecules, including proteins and nucleic acids. Users can perform queries on data and analyze and visualize results.

SwissTargetPrediction (tool)

RRID:SCR_023756

Web tool to estimate the most probable macromolecular targets of small molecule, assumed as bioactive. Prediction is founded on combination of 2D and 3D similarity with library of known actives on proteins from three different species.
