Alternative lengthening of telomeres (ALT) is a telomerase-independent mechanism used by a broad range of neoplasms to maintain telomere length, permitting uncontrolled replication during their progression. ALT has been described in different types of sarcoma, but a comprehensive analysis of its clinical significance is still lacking. Therefore, we provide here the first meta-analysis on this topic.

miR-182-5p (miR-182) is an oncogenic microRNA (miRNA) found in different tumor types and one of the most up-regulated miRNA in colorectal cancer (CRC). Although this microRNA is expressed in the early steps of tumor development, its role in driving tumorigenesis is unclear.

The Ras Association Domain Family Member 1 (RASSF1) is one of the most frequently reported methylation-inactivated tumor suppressor genes in primary pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDAC). Limited information is still available about the impact of RASSF1 gene silencing on the expression of its different isoforms in neoplastic cells.
