Description: Rattus norvegicus with name OLETF.F344-(D1Rat166-D1Rat90)/Tj from RGD.
Species: Rattus norvegicus
Notes: Female OLETF were crossed with male F344 rats. The male F1 progeny were backcrossed with female F344 to produce the BC1. Five generations of backcross matings were made between selective males from the BC1 and F344 females to produce the new congenic strain. Sucessive generations were maintained by a standard brother-sister mating protocol. National BioResource Project for the Rat in Japan
