International Consortium for Brain Mapping

Probabilistic reference system for human brain, including tools to establish this reference system for structural and functional anatomy on both macroscopic (in vivo) and microscopic (post mortem) levels. Project has expanded neuroinformatics tools for data sharing and created Conforming Site System that allows laboratories worldwide to contribute data to evolving atlas. Through implementation of ICBM data sharing policy space, they are fostering data exchange while still providing for scientific credit assignment and subject confidentiality.ICBM atlas collection consists of ICBM Template, tool developed to provide reference that includes both set of coordinates and associated anatomical labels; the ICBM 452 T1 atlas, average of T1-weighted MRIs of normal young adult brains, ICBM probabilistic atlases, and Cytoarchitectonic Atlas. ICBM Subject Database is web-based database infrastructure that simplifies image dataset collection, organization and dissemination. Authorized users may view representations of data and form collections of datasets that can be downloaded or fed directly into Pipeline environment for distributed processing and analysis.

A desktop application for the analysis, visualization and data-mining of large-scale genomic data. It is a versatile microarray tool, incorporating sophisticated algorithms for clustering, visualization, classification, statistical analysis and biological theme discovery. MeV generates informative and interrelated displays of expression and annotation data from single or multiple experiments. A huge array of alrogithms are included in MeV modules, and are available at a button-click, such as K-means clustering, Hierarchical clustering, t-Tests, Significance Analysis of Microarrays, Gene Set Enrichment Analysis, and EASE. Extensive documentation is available for helping new users get started with MeV. A Quickstart Guide provides the tutorial a brand new person will need to get their first dataset loaded and displayed in the program. Returning MEV users will want to check out the release notes to see what new features are available in the latest versions of the program. Tutorials have been written about several of its more involved features.

Archives of Neurology

Archives of Neurology publishes occasional theme issues on topics such as cerebrovascular diseases, epilepsy, neuromuscular diseases, neoplasms, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, Alzheimer disease, neurotherapeutics, genetics, sleep disorders, headache syndromes, emergency neurology, neuro-ophthalmology, neuro-otology, neurogenerative diseases, ethical issues, and neurobiotechnology. It is an international peer-reviewed journal published 12 times a year; the online version is published on the second Monday of the month. A Middle Eastern edition of Archives of Neurology is published bimonthly. The mission of the Archives of Neurology is to publish scientific information primarily important for those physicians caring for people with neurologic disorders but also for those interested in the structure and function of the normal and diseased nervous system. These specific aims are (1) to make timely publication of original research of the nervous system, (2) to record observations of single patients or groups of patients that will provide new information and insights, (3) to report more basic research that is pertinent to the understanding of disease, (4) to introduce topics of practice, ethics, teaching, and history that are useful, (5) to provide a forum for discussion on topics that may be controversial in this field.
