Software pipeline for automated identification of targeted cell types from multiple heterogeneous single-cell transcriptomic datasets (formats supported: .h5ad). It is designed to simplify and accelerate integrative large-scale single-cell analyses.
Core provides specialized expertise, instrumentation, and technical support for assessment of mitochondrial function in cells, tissues, and isolated mitochondria. Provides standardized mitochondrial isolation, experimental design consultation, assay optimization, data analysis, and interpretation. Services include high-resolution respirometry using the Oroboros O2k-FluoRespirometer, simultaneous measurement of oxygen consumption and reactive oxygen species production, mitochondrial respiratory control and coupling analyses, electron transport system complex activity assays, citrate synthase activity, mitochondrial calcium handling, and assessment of mitochondrial content and oxidative stress. Studies can be performed using isolated mitochondria, permeabilized tissue fibers, tissue homogenates, and intact cells, depending on the scientific question and sample availability. Core also assists with protocol development, selection of normalization strategies, troubleshooting, training, and preparation of methods and data for grants, presentations, and publications.
Core provides services including preparation of research tissue specimens for microscopic investigation with imaging capabilities for brighfield and fluorescent microscopy. Offers preparation tissue specimens for Histological sectioning utilizing both frozen and paraffin embedding techniques, preparation of mounted sections on glass slides. Facility maintains microtomes and cryostats for the preparation of tissue sections and houses several high end fluorescent microscopy systems, including the Leica Stellaris 8 tau-STED Super Resolution Microscope, the Nikon A1R+ HD Confocal Microscope,and the Nikon Ti2 HCA Inverted Fluorescence Microscope. Core also provides access to the Spatial Biology Platforms: Akoya PhenoCycler Fusion 2.0, 10x Genomics Visium and 10x Genomics Xenium.

Core is a fee-for-use COBRE core that houses multi-photon microscopes and light microscopes that allow high-resolution visualization of cell and tissue structure (mitochondrial networks, collagen structure), metabolic function (optical redox and NADH fluorescence lifetime measurements), and biomolecular composition (autofluorescent metabolic cofactors, lipid deposition).

Facility promotes and facilitates faculty and student research in biomedical bench science. Provides supports for clinical research, expertise and resources to clinical and translational scientists and trainees. Offers services of clinical research coordinators and BSL2 facilities for the processing, storage or molecular experimentation of human biological samples. In addition, equipment and technical assistance for performing ELISAs, cell proliferation assays, autoantibody assays, nitric oxide (NO) measurements, reactive oxygen species (ROS) determination, proteomics, mitochondrial function, flow cytometry, Western immunoblotting, and cell cytokine secretion profiling are available.
Multi-center facility at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, created to help users take advantage of up-to-date resources in the stem cell field in a timely and cost-efficient way. Offered services include giving access to quality-controlled pluripotent stem cells and stem cell-derivatives prepared using standardized approaches; genome editing services for the generation of custom-designed cell lines; training sessions and informal interactions between scientists from multiple laboratories working on different stem cell models. Some reagents commonly used in stem cell labs, as mTeSR1 media and irradiated mouse embryonic fibroblasts, are also available at discounted prices for our users. Services include preclinical research (mice, rats, CAM assay, zebrafish, slugs) using radionuclide imaging via SPECT/CT and PET/CT, as well as 3T MRI, µCT, radiochemistry, tracer biokinetics, and kinetic modeling.
Real-time live-cell imaging system designed for long-term time-lapse dynamic observation of living cells, including intracellular calcium flux recording, tumor spheroid, organoid 3D growth tracking, cell migration, apoptosis and pharmacodynamic screening. Equipped with multi-channel fluorescence excitation modules, the system supports continuous non-invasive real-time monitoring under physiological culture environment, used in stem cell research, oncology, cardiovascular pharmacology and cell biology experiments.
Core offers solar cell fabrication, characterization and testing capabilities. Additional services include making modules and performing reliability testing. Core is designed with industrial compatibility in mind. Although fabrication on smaller substrates or even pieces is possible, the native substrate form factor is currently 156 mm silicon. New equipment is being selected to maintain compatibility with evolving solar manufacturing sizes (e.g., M12 = 295 mm diagonal). Supported technology thrusts reinforce industry relevance. Considering solely silicon technology, architectures researched include Al BSF, PERC, SHJ and various tandems, predominantly silicon-based with a perovskite top cell.
