Characteristics of stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients in the pulmonology clinics of seven Asian cities.

  • Yeon-Mok Oh‎ et al.
  • International journal of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease‎
  • 2013‎

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is responsible for significant morbidity and mortality worldwide. We evaluated the characteristics of stable COPD patients in the pulmonology clinics of seven Asian cities and also evaluated whether the exposure to biomass fuels and dusty jobs were related to respiratory symptoms, airflow limitation, and quality of life in the COPD patients.

A novel CT-emphysema index/FEV1 approach of phenotyping COPD to predict mortality.

  • Li-Cher Loh‎ et al.
  • International journal of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease‎
  • 2018‎

COPD-associated mortality was examined using a novel approach of phenotyping COPD based on computed tomography (CT)-emphysema index from quantitative CT (QCT) and post-bronchodilator (BD) forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) in a local Malaysian cohort.

Clinical Features and Outcomes of Acute Exacerbation in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Patients with Pulmonary Heart Disease: A Multicenter Observational Study.

  • Lingyan You‎ et al.
  • International journal of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease‎
  • 2021‎

To identify clinical features and outcomes associated with pulmonary heart disease among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbation (COPD), which may help reduce economic burden accrued over hospital stay and shorten length of stay (LOS).

Identifying miRNA Modules and Related Pathways of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Associated Emphysema by Weighted Gene Co-Expression Network Analysis.

  • Jing An‎ et al.
  • International journal of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease‎
  • 2021‎

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a heterogeneous chronic inflammatory disease characterized by progressive airflow limitation that causes high morbidity and mortality. MicroRNA, a short-chain noncoding RNA, regulates gene expression at the transcriptional level. microRNA modules with a role in the pathogenesis of COPD may serve as COPD biomarkers.

Enjoying Breathing Program: A National Prospective Study Protocol to Improve Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Management in Chinese Primary Health Care.

  • Cunbo Jia‎ et al.
  • International journal of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease‎
  • 2020‎

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is prevalent and poses a heavy burden worldwide. However, patients know little about COPD, and primary health care providers have poor therapy capability in China. Enjoying Breathing Program aims to establish a new comprehensive COPD patient management system, including early detection, standardized therapy, and follow-up in China. The goal of the study is to 1) describe the intervention for physicians and patients and 2) to assess the effectiveness of this program.

Elevated plasma levels of pigment epithelium-derived factor correlated with inflammation and lung function in COPD patients.

  • Xiaoou Li‎ et al.
  • International journal of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease‎
  • 2015‎

Pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF) is a 50 kD small secreting glycoprotein that participates in multiple physiological and pathological processes. Recent studies have reported that PEDF plays an important role in inflammatory responses in several diseases. However, the role of PEDF in the pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) remains unclear.

Cost-Effectiveness of Dual Bronchodilator Indacaterol/Glycopyrronium for COPD Treatment in China.

  • Shiyi Gong‎ et al.
  • International journal of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease‎
  • 2021‎

Indacaterol/glycopyrronium (IND/GLY) is a once-daily dual bronchodilator for long-term treatment of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The efficacy and safety of IND/GLY have been proved before, but the cost-effectiveness is unknown in China.

Identification and Bioinformatic Analysis of Circular RNA Expression in Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells from Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

  • Ruirui Duan‎ et al.
  • International journal of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease‎
  • 2020‎

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) regulate other RNA transcripts by competing for shared microRNAs, which play roles in the pathogenesis of many diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). However, the role of circRNAs in COPD remains unknown. This study aimed to investigate the expression profile and the role of circRNAs in COPD.
