    Cholinergic neuron

    Description:

    Preferred ID: npokb:6     Type: term      ID# ILX:0784333     Score: 23499.63

    Basalis nucleus cholinergic neuron

Description: Large multipolar neuron (also described as polyhedral) found in the nucleus basalis of Meynert in the basal forebrain that uses acetylcholine as a neurotransmitter. Most of the dendrites are very long giving a thick network of secondary and tertiary dendritic branches in a radial three dimensional arrangement in the neuropil space. The secondary and tertiary dendritic branches are studded with long fusiform or triangular spines (Baloyannis, S. J., Costa, V., Psaroulis, V., Arzoglou, L. Papsotiriou (1994) The nucleus basalis of Meynert of the human brain: a Golgi and electron microscope study) Int J Neurosci., 78: 33-41.

    Preferred ID: NLXCELL:20090203     Type: term      ID# ILX:0101114     Score: 389.75015

    Cholinergic neuron (FBbt Term)

Description: Any neuron (FBbt_00005106) that releases as a neurotransmitter, some acetylcholine (CHEBI:15355).

    Preferred ID: NLX:148005     Type: term      ID# ILX:0102131     Score: 377.36554

    Neostriatum cholinergic cell

Description: Large cholinergic interneuron in the caudate nucleus and putamen, extensive axon collaterals terminate on striatal medium spiny neurons

    Preferred ID: SAO:1866881837     Type: term      ID# ILX:0107403     Score: 265.97348

    M2 receptor

Description: A specific subtype of muscarinic receptor found in the lower BRAIN, the HEART and in SMOOTH MUSCLE-containing organs. Although present in smooth muscle the M2 muscarinic receptor appears not to be involved in contractile responses.Year introduced: 2004 - adapted from MeSH

    Preferred ID: NIFEXT:7946     Type: term      ID# ILX:0106430     Score: 13.443434

    Acetylcholine Receptor

Description: Cell surface proteins that bind acetylcholine with high affinity and trigger intracellular changes influencing the behavior of cells. Cholinergic receptors are divided into two major classes, muscarinic and nicotinic, based originally on their affinity for nicotine and muscarine. Each group is further subdivided based on pharmacology, location, mode of action, and/or molecular biology (MSH).

    Preferred ID: SAO:1700719022     Type: term      ID# ILX:0100242     Score: 13.173848

Retina type 6 cone bipolar cell

Description: Type 5 and type 6, both have a very narrow ramification. By using Normaski optics, the two cell types can be distinguished by their stratification level within the IPL relative to a band of higher optical density, which is localized at the border of strata 3 and 4 and represents the inner cholinergic band.

    Preferred ID: ILX:0110043     Type: term      ID# ILX:0110043     Score: 10.169482
