Description: THIS RESOURCE IS NO LONGER IN SERVICE. Documented on December 6, 2022. Core facility that provides the following services: Embyro stem cell tissue culture service. The Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) and Embryonic Stem Cell (ESC) Laboratory provides researchers with nonhuman primate gametes, embryos, follicular cells, embryonic stem cells, and other ART/ESC-related services in support of studies on gamete and follicular development, fertilization and contraception, early embryogenesis, pregnancy initiation, fetal development, stem cell biology, cell-based therapy of human disease, and the creation of disease models in non-human primates. The Core conducts research projects to investigate new areas of technology for creating or propagating valuable founder animals, including genetically modified and genetically identical monkeys and derivation, characterization, and transplantation of autologous, immunocompatible, pluripotent cells. In addition, the ART/ESC laboratory provides expertise and training in all aspects of the nonhuman primate ARTs and ESCs to scientists around the world.
