Comments: "To raise polyclonal antibodies against the N-terminal region of Gap1 and the C-terminal region of Pma1, the GST-Gap1 and GST-Pma1 fusion proteins were produced in RKB304 bacteria, and their synthesis was induced for 3 h with 1 mM isopropyl-1-thio-β-D-galactopyranoside. The fusion proteins were then purified from lysates by means of agarose beads linked to glutathione (Amersham Pharmacia Biotech). The specificity of the rabbit antisera was tested by comparing the signal pattern obtained in a wild-type versus a gap1Δ strain or a pma1Δ strain expressing a plant H+-ATPase (39) complementing the pma1Δ mutation."
