Why take control? NIF uses text mining tools that query the literature on a monthly basis to help tool makers track their resource. It is like ORCID for software tools and databases. Tracking can notify tool makers when papers mention their tool. It provides the information openly and lets other users know how many papers cite any tool. This allows the user to make decisions as to which tool to use for their applications.
