REDCapResource, data processing software, software application, data management software, software repository, service resource, software toolkit, software resource, data acquisition softwareSecure web application that allows users to build and manage online surveys and databases quickly and securely. Using REDCap's stream-lined process for rapidly developing projects, you may create and design projects using 1) the online method from your web browser using the Online Designer; and/or 2) the offline method by constructing a "data dictionary" template file in Microsoft Excel, which can be later uploaded into REDCap. Both surveys and databases (or a mixture of the two) can be built using these methods. REDCap provides audit trails for tracking data manipulation and user activity, as well as automated export procedures for seamless data downloads to Excel, PDF, and common statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata, R). Also included are a built-in project calendar, a scheduling module, ad hoc reporting tools, and advanced features, such as branching logic, file uploading, and calculated fields. REDCap has a quick and easy software installation process, so that you can get REDCap running and fully functional in a matter of minutes. Several language translations have already been compiled for REDCap (e.g. Chinese, French, German, Portuguese), and it is anticipated that other languages will be available in full versions of REDCap soon. The REDCap Shared Library is a repository for REDCap data collection instruments and forms that can be downloaded and used by researchers at REDCap partner institutions.online survey, survey, database, translational research, informatics, workflow, clinical research, clinical, metadata, biomedical, online form, data capture, management, analysis, data sharing, data collection, data standard, best practice, data collection instrument, electronic data capture, data management softwareSCR_003445(REDCap, RRID:SCR_003445)Vanderbilt University; Tennessee; USA related to: Clinical and Translational Science Awards Consortium, listed by: Biositemaps, works_with: redcap-completion, aux-file-uploadReferences (2)Last checked downnif-0000-33254

cTAKESResource, software resource, software application, text-mining software, source codeAn open-source natural language processing system for information extraction from electronic medical record clinical free-text. This is a system through which one creates one or more pipelines to process clinical notes and to identify clinical named entities. It processes clinical notes, identifying types of clinical named entities, drugs, diseases/disorders, signs/symptoms, anatomical sites and procedures. Each named entity that is found is given attributes for the text span, the ontology mapping code, the context (family history of, current, unrelated to patient), and negated/not negated. cTAKES is built on the UIMA framework. cTAKES 2.5 does not provide a GUI of its own for installation or processing. The cTAKES documentation shows how to use the GUIs provided by the UIMA framework, and how to run cTAKES from a command line. Before using cTAKES you need to know that cTAKES does not provide any mechanisms of its own to handle patient data securely. It is assumed that cTAKES is installed on a system that can process patient data, or that any data being processed by cTAKES has already been through a deidentification step in order to comply with any applicable laws. The tool has been developed and deployed at Mayo Clinic since early 2000.natural language processing, information extraction, electronic medical record, medical record, clinical, free-text, annotation, unstructured information management architecture, uimaSCR_006379(cTAKES, RRID:SCR_006379)Mayo Clinic Minnesota; Minnesota; USA , National Cancer Institute IBM UIMA, SHARPn Strategic Health IT Advanced Research Projects Area 4: Secondary Use of EHR Data Cooperative Agreement from the HHS Office of the National Coordinator Washington DCrelated to: Clinical and Translational Science Awards ConsortiumReferences (2)Last checked downnlx_152159https://wiki.nci.nih.gov/display/VKC/cTAKES+2.5
