Description: Rattus norvegicus with name CWS from RGD.
Species: Rattus norvegicus
Notes: R Shoji from a cross of an outbred Jcl:SD rat with spontaneous cataract and WKAH inbred rats. Subsequent brother x sister mating with selecting for cataract resulted in all offspring from the 3rd. generation developing cataract accompanied by microphthalmia which can be observed from the day that the eyes open.
