Comments: L2 empty backbone for golden gate assembly (Bpi) to diatoms. This is a shorter backbone to improve transformation and cloning for systems that do not need the Agrobacterium T-DNA delivery. The colonies are red due to the canthaxanthin operon. Successful insertion cut out the canthaxanthin operon and lead to white colonies.
