Notes: This strain was made by electroporation of WDB/Nips-ES1/Nips (RGD ID:10054010) embryonic stem cells with a targeting vector. Homologous recombination of the rKiss1 targeting construct (13.4kb) result in the deletion of 2.5 kb of the Kiss1 locus, consisting of 88 bp of the first coding exon, all of the 2.0-kb downstream intron, and 319 bp of the second coding exon, covering all of the coding region of this exon including the key active region of the processed peptide. Founder animals were backcrossed to Crlj:WI.
