Growth hormone deficiency (GHD) leads to obesity and may induce tissue hypoxia. As (pro)renin receptor [(P)RR] is reported to contribute to the aerobic metabolism by stabilizing pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH), it may play a substantial role in GHD.
